“Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.” - Thomas Merton
A little Bit About Me
My name is Trinity (b. 2006) and I come from a small town in Alberta where my love for art first began. Growing up, I was always doing something creative. Whether it was simple crafts or more detailed pieces but it wasn’t until high school that my passion truly took shape. I immersed myself in drawing and a little bit of painting which earned me the art 10, 20 and 30 awards along the way. Art became more than a hobby, it became the place where I felt the most free, most fulfilled, especially when I could create something meaningful for someone else.
After graduation, I found myself at a crossroads. I was often told that my only realistic paths (That involved using my artistic skills.) were architecture or design, but neither felt true to who I am. Unsure of what direction to take, I took a gap year, worked full-time and I was planning on going back to school again once I figured out what is it that I wanted to pursue. I am now on my second gap year and I still feel stuck, my passion is drawing and painting and I owe it to myself to at least try to achieve my dream of being a full time artist.
This is me putting myself out there, taking a chance on what I love, and working to prove that I can build a life as a full-time, self-taught artist. This website is a gallery of my work and is a piece of this journey and I hope you enjoy it as much as I’ve loved creating each piece.
